Aloha Friday #1

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.(Actually I posted my butt off today, but next Friday I will take it easier) Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. My Question is, What did you want to "be" when you grew up? And have you had the chance to come close?

Please leave a comment, and a link to your blog. Comments are the new hugs and we could all use more of those.

  1. I don't recall if I knew when I was little what I wanted to be, but in high school I knew I wanted to be an accountant and I did end up doing accounting and bookkeeping work.

Hope you have a happy and safe 4th of July.

Stop by Lin's Duck and Wheel With String to vote for me in her First Official Dork-Off Contest. Vote for my photo, because my kindergarten photo is THE dorkiest.

  2. Oh good Lola, you got what you wanted.
I wanted to be someone who could "FLY". On windy days I would get my fathers huge black umbrella and stand on the porch waiting for big gusts of wind. When I saw the tops of the trees across the street sawaying I would get up to the edge of the porch and hold the umbrella very tight arching it over my back. As soon as the breeze was on me I would jump high off the porch and bring the umbrella forward trying to catch the wind under the huge cloth.
I was never discouraged, spending loads of time doing this...I was an only child and an extreme loner.
Of course this is back when the movie "Mary Poppins" had just come out.
Now I am terrified of flying and will do my best to never get on a plane again. (I flew up here to Ohio and I flew to Upstate NY when I was 16 but those are the only 2 times)

  3. Thank you for voting for me in the First Official Dork-Off at Lin's Duck and Wheel With String.

The votes are in and the winner has been announced. Thanks so much for your vote. Be sure to come back and check out Lin's blog and my blogs.

    Thanks again!

  4. Remember when I wanted to be the Avon lady and I even drew a picture of one on career day in kindergarten?
I guess the answer to number 2 would be 'no'.

  5. You're welcome Lola, how could I ever resist those cheeks/
And I think every one of our mothers had the same straight line bang hangup.

I do kind of remember something about that. It was when I was selling Avon for a short time. We were living with Mema and Papa.
You may not have been an Avon Lady but you sure are one helluva Fashionista.
